- today is october 28 1929, also known as black monday. The stock market has crashed, I have a feeling its only going to get worse.
- 1929
- My name is Franklin D. Roosevelt, I have just been elected president and things around this country need to change!!
- 1932
- THERE HAVE BEEN BIG DUST STORMS ALL AROUND THE GREAT PLAINS! DID OUR OVERPRODUCTION OF CROPS CAUSE THAT? ARE WE THE REASON FOR THE GREAT DEPRESSION?
- we have been buying everything on credit and now we are going into a lot of debt.
- We set our tariffs to high and now the other countries have done the same! are we the reason for the great depression?
- These are all causes of the great depression!!
- We tried but it was too late we have failed to act....
- we have been gambling on stocks and now were in debt! Am I a reason for the great depression?
- FDR:We disagree, we think that we need the government's help to get the country out of this depression.
- HOOVER:I originally believed this depression would only last 6 months... but it hasn't. Unfortunately, the government cannot solve the depression. So I will do as little as I can to solve it, solve it yourself.
