  • Some of the pesticides we use to kill bugs, weeds and other unwanted things might have long term health problems for humans. When it rains the pesticides or fertilizers could run off farms and pollute into rivers or streams, it could take years for the pesticides to break down whether it's in the air, soil or water. Like ddt, it was banned in Canada in 1972 for health concerns. It would take 2-15 years for it to break down in the soil, it is still found in some places in the soil.

  • Synthetic pesticides are ones that humans created that were made to stop crop loss, synthetic pesticides were made for one species of bugs but it can affect other species too. The pests can become resistant to the pesticides over time they pass the DNA to survive the pesticide.

  • Monocultures have some good and bad things, if you grow the same crop every year the nutrients in the soil will be depleted, It also has a higher risk of disease. But it would be easier to harvest all the crops when it's time, they would also need to use fuel for their things to harvest.
