  • How could you do this to a woman?
  • The story opens with John Watson's "REUNION" with Sherlock Holmes after some time apart. Watson stops by the Baker Street residence and finds Holmes, his “former friend and companion,” preoccupied with tons of cases.
  • Where is she going?
  • I NEED TO GET IT OR IT MIGHT BURN!
  • The two associates meet with the future King of Bohemia who is requiring Holmes' assistance in procuring an incriminating photograph of himself with Irene Adler, the American opera singer. The king is about to be married, but previously the king had had a "RELATIONSHIP" with her.
  • 'Did I not tell you how quick and resolute she was?'
  • It was here yesterday.

  • Holmes concocts a plan to gain access to Adler’s home. He "DISGUISE"s himself as a clergyman, and visits Irene Adler’s home once again. A fact fight is organized, and Holmes makes it seem that he has been injured whilst protecting the American singer.

  • With that "DECEOPTION," he gained entry inside the house, and then Watson tosses a smoke bomb in the window. At the possibility of a fire raging through her house, Adler had moved to the photographs hiding place. So Holmes knew that the photo was behind a sliding panel.
  • However, Adler manages to prevent both parties from succeeding because of her "CLEVERNESS," and using her own intelligence and forethought. When Holmes came back the next day together with Watson and the king, Adler already and they found a different picture of her and a letter.
  • Instead of earning his enmity, for thwarting his efforts totrick her, Adler earns his “ETERNAL ADMIRATION.” Holmes retains the picture of Adler as compensation, and Watson concludes by describing Holmes' enduring admiration of the woman.
