- What does Kennedy talk about?
- Often, Kennedy talks about how disappointed she is with her mother and complains about Stella not showing up for her. She says, "My mother still hasn't been to a show... she's so pissed at me for leaving school... my mother would love if I were going to be a doctor" (Bennett 265,266). Stella is always the topic of discussion for Jude and Kennedy. Kennedy usually is telling how Stella is expecting more from her and expressing her feelings about Stella not supporting her.
- After Jude tells Kennedy about Stella's true past, Kennedy cannot stop thinking about, even after her mother tells her it isn't true. She exclaims, "But why would she lie? Why would she say those things to me... Just drop it, Ken, You can't let that girl get to you... I know but-" (Bennett 290). This is a conversation between Kennedy and Blake that shows that Kennedy cannot seem to stop wondering about the things Jude told her. Even though her parents are telling her to stop, she is still questioning it.

- After Jude gives Kennedy the picture of Stella and Desiree, Kennedy still wants to keep in contact with Jude so she shows up to the hospital Reese gets his surgery at. The text says, "Still, she left work early and rode the bus to the hospital. At the nurses' station, she asked a tiny redhead to page a Jude Winston" (Bennett 327).
