Texte du Storyboard

  • have you heard about mitosis and meiosis? Why are they important?
  • They are two cell divisions that take place in eukaryotic cells, meiosis and mitosis, both start from a diploid parent cell.
  • yes of course
  • But what is the diference between them?
  • in meiosisDiploid parent cell includes the following phases: interphase, prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. The sister chromatids are divided into opposing poles during anaphase.Ends with cytokinesis.
  • And mitosis?
  • It has two daughter cells as a result.outcomes in a diploid daughter tissues (chromosome are the same as the parent cell's number)Daughter cells share the same genetic makeup. The sister chromatids are divided into opposing poles during anaphase.
  • Thats so interesting, how are they similar?
  • They occur frequently and are significant. Both types have essentially identical subphases. The two cycles both experience cytokinesis. In every cycle, DNA duplication takes place.
  • I've heard about crossing over and independant assortment, what is that and why is it important?
  • Because of recombination and independent assortment in meiosis, each gamete contains a separate set of DNA. The resultant zygote has a special set of genes as a result. Prophase is when recombination or crossing across happens. Variations in genetic material that are passed down through the generations are made possible via genetic recombination.
  • Now i know more about the subject and im ready for my test, Thank you.
  • Im glad i could help, if you ever need help dont hesitate on calling me.
