- 'But, soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.'
- 'O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name; or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I'll no longer be a Capulet.'
- It is the man who's name you wish was other than Romeo.
- Who is it that is at my house!
- Romeo hides in the garden and observes Juliet walking onto the balcony outside her room. Where he declares his admiration for Juliet to himself.
- 'By love, who first did prompt me to inquire; he lent me counsel and I lent him eyes.'
- How did you find me?
- Juliet appears at the balcony, not knowing that Romeo is hiding and can hear everything she will say. Juliet also declares her admiration and confliction since she finds herself loving Romeo when their families are enemies.
- Because I love you! I have to go before anyone catches me. I'll see you back here again tomorrow!
- Oh Romeo, I must admit, you have made me blush. But how do I know your feelings for me are real? We just met
- Romeo frightened Juliet as he jumped out of his hiding place, revealing that he has been eavesdropping on her private, spoken thoughts. He swears to take her at her word and be called something other than 'Romeo' if that's what it takes to win her heart.
- The exchange of thy love's faithful vow for mine
- That I shall say good night till it be morrow.
- When Juliet realizes it is Romeo, she reminds him that he could be put to death if he is discovered because he is a Montague. Romeo tells her that he would risk anything to see her, and Juliet wonders how he found her room.
- Juliet is conflicted on whether or not Romeo's love is genuine. After all, they only just met at the party that very night. Juliet didn't intend for Romeo to overhear how she felt about him and is now a little embarrassed.
- After they talked with marriage in mind and Romeo says sweet words to flirt with Juliet, pouring out his heart even though he doesn't know her very much. But they had to depart in the end but will meet the next day.
