- On June 28 1914, Serbian members planned to assassinate the archduke, Franz Ferdinand, feeling that their independence was being threatened.
- We have to get rid of Franz and Sophie, if we want our freedom.
- We will assassinate them with a grenade. If it doesn't work, we will shoot them.
- A person by the name Cabrinovic missed the archduke. The first attempt to kill them was a failure.
- Realizing that the Archduke and archduchess were about to be killed, they tried to flee the city.
- Its too dangerous! We must leave before we get killed.
- The assassin who killed the duke and duchess is Gavrilo Princip, a 19 year old.
- You can't escape, This is for my country.

- Sophie, the duchess and an expecting mother and the archduke were killed when shots fired.

- The officers chased down Princip. The assassination of duke and duchess would start a chain of events that lead to WW1.
