- Hey Andi, did you watch the Education Minister's speech about G20 yesterday?
- Yes, I did! The one that he spoke about plans for a better quality education after the pandemic, right?
- Yes! What do you think of it? Is there something else you think governments should do?
- Hmm.. I can't think of any. What does it matter anyway? It's governments' job, and we're just ordinary citizens.
- That's not true! As young citizens, we have rights to voice out our concerns. Especially on issues that matter to us.
- Well, it makes senses. And education is a topic that is so important to many students around the world like us.
- Exactly! So we need to contribute our voices first in order to be heard. G20 Summit this year is an ideal opportunity for us to do that.
- I see. So what about you? What do you think governments can do for a stronger and better quality education?
- First, governments must provide access to free, safe, and inclusive quality education for all. And second, they should ensure digital technologies in education is accessible for all too, and this includes students with disabilities as well as those who live in rural places.
- Agree. It's also important to create more learning opportunities for young people like us and build teachers' capacity.
- We need to work together and ensure G20 leaders address these asks. Only then we will recover together and recover stronger.
