- Hey, did you know that there were plays in the middle ages?
- No, i never really thought about it. I wonder what they were like back then.
- Yea, plays in the middle ages were very interesting. They all had important meanings behind them . One good play from back then is Everyman.
- Oh, that is really cool! PLease, tell me more about it!
- Of course! The play Everyman was written by Petrus Dorlandus. It was written before the end of the fifteenth century. (1495)
- Wow! That's a long time ago. What was the main plot or reason behind the play?
- The play is about how every man tries to convince other characters to join him in the hope of improving his life.
- Oh! That's really neat! What was the theme behind the play?
- Yeah, I know right? The theme behind the play is death and the fate of the human soul—of Everyman's soul as he tries to justify his time on earth.
- Nice! i wish i could've seen that play in person.
- Me too! The Everyman play personifies abstract concepts such as beauty and strength.it creates actual characters named Beauty and Strength to symbolize these qualities.
