- This land is amazing!
- Lewis and Clark
- Lewis and Clark say the land is amazing. They also say the land could be cultivated.
- Yeah!
- This land is like a desert.
- Zebulon Pike
- Pike travels through Kansas and describes it as a desert. He also says that no farm land could be here.
- This place is like a desert. I will call this the great American desert.
- Stephen Long
- This land IS like a desert with a bunch of indians here too. I will call this the great American desert.

- Long then travels to Kansas and labels it as the great American desert. Has influenced the government of a bad way.
- Jackson's Speech
- "What man would prefer a country filled with forest and savages instead of 12,000,000 happy people."
- Jackson went to Congress and gave them his Speech. He talks about how they should move the Indians.
- Indian Removal Act
- The Americans make the Indians leave their homes. The Indians find it hard to live where they are.
