- We watched them build their house close to our tribes lands. The woman seemed to pay special attention to us and even introduced herself one afternoon. She called herself Narcissa.
- Once they had settled Narcissa journeyed over to our land and started speaking to the people. She said many things about worshiping her god and converting to Christianity. I knew the people of our tribe would never convert to worshiping just one god, but we all listened politely and once she was gone, we went about our day.
- After a while she started to arrive more frequently preaching her religion. The entire village started to tune her out and she had visible frustration and started calling our people terrible names. This went on for months of Narcissa trying to convert our people.
- WHY WON'T YOU PEOPLE LISTEN TO ME?!?! YOU ARE DIRTY AND SINFUL PEOPLE!!
- Following the weeks of Narcissa and her husbands presence, we started seeing huge numbers of settlers coming towards our land. Some included law enforcement who tried forcing us out. Many of them arrived closer and closer to us and because of this, our people began getting sick.
- When more settlers started to arrive, things really started to get bad. Our people were sick and hiding because of the troops. We were getting to the point where we had to move or else all of our people were going to die. Because of this I had to make the difficult decision to leave our land.
- I had to lead my people west, through terrible conditions, scarce supplies, and horrible disease. Many perished on the journey and only about 1/4 of our original tribe made it west. Our tribe experienced tragedy and loss in order for you to experience triumph.
