Texte du Storyboard

  • Please help us, Teiresias. You are the only one that can rescue Thebes...
  • Yeah, well not to flex, but I have a lot of wisdom and it kind of sucks. On that note, can I leave?
  • Wait what? You just got here, why so unenthusiastic?
  • I just want to go home. It's the best for the both of us. We can forget this all happened.
  • So you're telling me you'd betray us all because you don't feel like speaking?
  • The truth will come out by itself, no matter how long I sit in silence.
  • Oedipus encounters the "truth speaking prophet", Teiresias, after he is invited to Thebes. Oedipus praises Teiresias's wisdom while begging him to save himself, as well as the city. After all of the compliments, Teiresias turns them all down and rethinks his decision of coming.
  • Oh man, you're gonna make me rage! Want to hear what I think? I think YOU'RE involved with the murder, even though you're blind.
  • I've had enough of this. Never speak to me or the men of Thebes again! YOU. You're the thing that plagues this city.
  • As Oedipus asks Teiresias for his guidance, Teiresias immediately regrets his decision to speak to Oedipus and does not want the truth to be revealed.
  • Huhhhhh....?
  • Oedipus is eager to find out the truth about who has killed Laios, but Teiresias implies the truth will come out soon, anyway. He also conceals hints in his words, hoping Oedipus will take the hint and not expose anything serious in front of the crowd.
  • How dare you-
  • You are the murderer; you are the killer you are searching for.
  • Oedipus begins to get enraged and cannot figure out why the truth cannot be told. He then attempts to pin the blame on Teiresias. He then reveals the truth to the city and to Oedipus. Oedipus is skeptical and questions Teiresias's gift.
  • What are you saying, weirdo?! Don't make these accusations to my face right now!
  • The crowd is also confused as their city's leader is accused of killing the king.
  • As Oedipus gets more and more enraged, Teiresias reveals his real truth, although he has hinted at it prior to exposing. Oedipus is offended that anyone talks about him in that way.
  • Soon, everyone in Thebes will mock you, just like you have mocked me.
