Texte du Storyboard

  • "Happy man,you died on the fields of Troy, a world away from home, and the best of Trojan and Argive champions died around you, fighting for your corpse." (24.38-40).
  • "For my return Zeus hatched a pitiful deathat the hands of Aegisthus —and my accursed wife.” (24.105-6).
  • In the underworld, Agamemnon talks about his and Achilles's deaths, and how Achilles had a much more heroic one. This proves how people still value honor very much, even when not living.
  • In the act of retelling the story of his father giving crops to his son, Odysseus rids any of Laertes's doubt and proves he is truly his father's son, who has been gone for twenty long years. Odysseus reuniting with his father is key for solidifying his return home.
  • "You gave me thireen pear, ten apple trees and forty figs —and promised to give me, look, fifty vinerows.” (24.379-80).
  • Athena comes to assist Odysseus as Mentor one last time by stopping the suitors' parents from fighting Odysseus and Laertes. Without this divine help, Odysseus would have most likely been either killed or forced to flee.
  • “Hold back, you men of Ithaca, back from brutal war!Break off —shed no more blood —make peace at once!” (24.584-85).
