Macbeth Script

- Scene 1: Three witches meet in a desert heath. Their appearance sets the story on a course of confusion and chaos.
- Scene 2: Through the mouth of an injured sergeant, King Duncan has learned about the defeat of Macdonwald. The Thane of Ross informs the King that the Thane of Cawdor is a traitor and has been captured. Scotland has won the war. Duncan is very happy with Macbeth and names him the new Thane of Cawdor.
- Scene 3: Macbeth and Banquo are on their way back to the Forrest when they come across the three witches. The witches inform Macbeth that he will become the Thane of Cawdor, as well as the king soon after. They also tell Banquo that his children will become kings; although he will not. The witches then disappear.
- Scene 4: The execution of the Thane of Cawdor has passed. The King holds a court where Macbeth, Banquo, Ross, Malcolm and Angus are all present. The King makes an announcement that he will be staying at Macbeth's castle on the way home. He also refers to Malcolm as his successor.
- Scene 5: Lady Macbeth has received her husbands letter informing her of the three witches prophecies. She fears that Macbeth is tookind-hearted to kill the king and she wishes to help him.
- Scene 6: Macbeth is unsure about following though with his plans of killing King Duncan. His wife, lady Macbeth tries to convince that it has to be done, she tells him that she would only see him as a coward if he does not accomplish their plans. This convinces Macbeth and he agrees to kill the King.
