  • This shifting tide has brought an idea in my mind. We shall vanquish this age of tyranny and have our father forever asleep, no affliction shall become of us as we start anew. Your beloved brother, EDGAR
  • I deserve to be as equal to my brother Edgar. It is transparent that he is the only legitimate son. It is no use to mull about this, but revenge is mine!
  • Edmund meets Gloucester in the staircase with "the letter from Edgar".
