- Manifest Destiny Triumph or tragedy I think the manifest destiny was a triumph the reason I think that is because the land we live in today would only be half the size we would not be nearly as wealthy or successful as we are today.
- Sacajawea One of the main reason that the manifest destiny is a triumph is because of all the land we gained and one of the people that really helped was Sacajawea because when Thomas Jefferson purchased the Louisiana territory which was 530,00,00 acres for 15 million dollars. So someone needed to go explore and figure out what was there. So Jefferson asked Merriwether Lewis and William Clark to go explore the new Louisiana territory and they found Sacajawea who became their interpreter.But another reason that Sacajawea was special was because she had to travel with Lewis and Clark and Sacajawea had a new born baby during the whole expedition and they had to travel all up and down mountains with a baby
- Thomas Jefferson As I said in the first section the main reason that the manifest destiny is a triumph is because of the amount of land we gained and the most important person in the process was Thomas Jefferson because he was the one that made the Louisiana purchase which doubled the size of america overnight. which happend to be the biggest deal ever and Thomas Jefferson also was the person that organized the Lewis and Clark expedition. which is the expedition that let the US know what they bought and what was there.One of the main conflicts during the expedition was that there were Native Americans there and Jefferson wanted to make sure they made peace with them to do that they brung many goods with them to trade.
- Meriwether Lewis You have heard his name before he was the person that led the Lewis and Clark expedition which was the exploration of the newly bought Louisiana territory Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisiana territory which was 530,000,000 acres for 15 million dollars. So Jefferson asked Lewis to go and explore the new territory and make peace with the Native Americans
- Some people may say that the Manifest Destiny was a tragedy because of the wars and debates about slavery and people may also say that the Native Americans were pushed out west and they had to leave there land for Americans to have. But wither you say it is a triumph or a tragedy is based on your perspective because it was a american triumph because of all the land we gained but it was a native american tragedy.
- That is why the manifest destiny is a triumph not a tragedy because of the success that all these three people were involved in
