Sure! The first step is defining what are your goals and aspirations for the future.
I really need help on deciding what major to get in college. Do you think you could help me decide?
The most important thing is that you're happy. Money should be a secondary thought when choosing which career to pursue.
My goal is to make lots of money and be happy at my job.
So what do you enjoy doing?
Now that we know what you enjoy doing, its time to analyze the different career options. Lets go to the library.
I really enjoy problem solving and I was always good at math.
Some of the career choices I think you would enjoy is engineering , medical scientist, and computer programmer. Do any of these sound interesting?
All of them intrigue me but I need to gather more information on each before I make a final decision.
According to what I read, an engineer makes about 63,000, a medical scientist makes around 79,000 a year, and a computer programmer makes 90,000 per year.
I like engineering because I can work in a team to accomplish a goal but it makes the least amount of money. A medical scientist would be a good option because I also enjoy science but it would take the most schooling. A computer grammer makes the most money but I feel like I would get bored of programming for hours on end each day.
It sounds like you're stumped. Lets get something to eat to think it over.
