- Mountain Men are adventurous men who hiked through forests, trapping animals, and living off the land. Minute men played a part in westward expansion by guiding travelers through the mountains into Oregon
- Mexican-American War
- This Is our land!!!
- Life on the Oregon Trail was scary. It was scary because you never know what ur going to run into. On the trail, you had to walk through mountains, snow, etc. The Oregon Trail played a part in the westward expansion by being the trail everyone took.
- Mormons in Utah
- The Manifest dynasty is the idea that the United States is destined by God to expand its territory and spread its democracy across North America. This played a role in westward expansion by being the reason people expanded west.
- California Gold Rush
- Gotta get this gold
- The Mexican-American war is the war that begins because Mexico was angered by the annexation. The Americans felt that Mexico stood in the way of the manifest dynasty. This played a part in westward expansion by expanding the mexicans land westward.
- Mormons are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mormons played a role in westward expansion by speaking up against slavery and angering americans.

- The California Gold Rush is when John Sutter discovered gold in California, and more than 80000 people went to California to try and get gold. This plays a role in the westward expansion because thousands of people settled in California and california because apart of the US.
