Storyboard Description
In this story of Jesus' final countdown to his resurrection, we see that Jesus is praying to God in the Garden of Gethsemane. He tells his disciples, James and John to watch him as something is going to happen to him. Instead, James and John fall asleep. Jesus finds them asleep and explains to them that “the spirit is willing, but the body is weak”. This happened 3 times in the Garden of Gethsemane. When Jesus returns back from the garden, he is arrested and betrayed by his disciple, Judas. In order to identify who Jesus is, Judas explains to the soldiers that he will greet him with a kiss. From this betrayal, Judas feels guilty and decides to hang himself. Jesus is arrested and is sent to the High Priestess as well as the Roman governor, Ponios Pilate. Jesus is put to trial where he claims that he is the “King of the Jew” and this angers Ponios Pilate and the Priest. Jesus is sentenced to be crucify on the cross. Before being nailed on the cross, Jesus was stripped out of his clothes and into a scarlet robe. He was given a woven branch of thorns like a crown to be placed on his head and was also given a reed stick to use as a scepter. Jesus carried his cross and was nailed to it where he ends up dying. Before he dies he cries out and says, “My God, My God why have you abandoned me”. When he dies the earth shakes. Three of Jesus' disciples, Joseph, Mary and Mary Magdalene take his body and places it in a tomb that is guard by two soldiers. On the third day, the Sunday morning they return back to the tomb and notice an angel. The angel explains that Jesus is not here and that he is risen. The angel also wants them to go and tell everyone of the good news, that the Lord has risen from the dead.
