- The narrator is reading by the fire when a tapping at the door wakes him from his sleep.
- Climax:
- The narrator checks to see who is tapping at the door, but when he opens the door, no one is there.
- Falling Action:
- He goes back to the fire and heard a tapping at the window, he opens the window and a raven flies through his window and perches itself on top of his chamber door.
- Resolution:
- He begins asking the raven whether he’ll see his “Lost Lenore” again, but the raven only says “Nevermore”.
- He begins to question whether the raven is evil or if it's a devil.
- He realizes that he will never be happy again.
