- Hi! I'm D-D-D-D-D-Dora, and I'm here to tell you what to do during an earthquake! Also, ignore the maniac child behind me, she caused the earthquake.
- Welcome to this random house. Yes, I broke in. Now, the earthquake will happen. Let's see what we should do.
- You should teach your family members what to do during an earthquake and make an emergency plan with them.
- To prepare for an earthquake, secure large things like desks, dressers, bookcases, and beds to keep them from toppling over.
- Your emergency plan should tell them how to act and who to call.
- Keep an emergency kit of medications (that your family or you take regularly), battery-powered lights, more than 10 gallons of water, non-perishable foods, a first aid kit/handbook, extra batteries, and a portable radio.
- If you're inside, stay away from walls and things that can fall, like the desk and bookcases.
- If you are outside, get to a safe open space without trees, poles, or buildings, and stay there.
