- John, now how do we measure atmospheric pressure?
- Good one Amy, we can measure atmospheric pressure with a Barometer or a Manometer
- Now, lets talk about laws of liquid pressure: liquilds exerts pressure in all directions, and equal pressure at the same depths. Pressure increases with depth.
- Good,! Now can we know how the atmospheric pressure applies in our daily lives
- Yes, and that's most important. Let's take few examples... First, I use studs when playing football. This is because it increases pressure on the ground and gives extra grip while playing.
- Yeah, thats cool!
- And then, when we go out to skiing, we see that the skis have a large area to reduce the pressure on the snow. This ensures that the skis do not sink into the snow too far.
- Oh yeah! How about household applications we use.
- We use a lot of applications that follow air pressure at home like a pressure cooker, vacuum cleaner, perfumes, soap dispensers, coffee maker, blowing balloons, sprinkler hose to water plants etc.
- Yeah, now I see a lot of things at home that goes on and on this list! Now we need a refreshing juice, Even straw we suck the juice from juice cartoon follows pressure.
