- During Romeo's first appearance in at 1 scene 1 he talks about he talks about his heartbroken relationship with Rosaline and also talks about the family feud between the Capulets and the Montagues. ''Here’s much to do with hate, but more with love. Why then, O brawling love, O loving hate, O anything of nothing first create! O heavy lightness, serious vanity, Misshapen chaos of well-seeming forms, Feather of lead, bright smoke, cold fire, sick health, Still-waking sleep that is not what it is! This love feel I, that feel no love in this. Dost thou not laugh?''

- In Act 3 scene 5, Juliet argues with her parents about her getting married with Paris, she uses paradox to convey her feelings. Capulet than asks Juliet if she is proud about her arranged marriage and Juliet says ''Not proud you have, but thankful that you have. Proud can I never be of what I hate, But thankful even for hate that is meant love.
