- 3) Jake, you have to work with us here. You said you have evidence as to why he's innocent. What is it?
- 1) What do you have to say in defense of the accused?
- 4) Because I was with him the entire night. He couldn't have killed that woman.
- 2) You mean why Abby shouldn't be going to jail? Because he's innocent.
- 2) Because he did this to me. He wrecked my car the same night as the murder happened. That's how I know he didn't do it.
- 1) How do we know you aren't covering for him?
- 1) Tell us everything that happened.
- 2) Fine, but it's a long story.
- 2) You and Abby started selling drugs?
- 1) All this started back when me and Abby were in college. We were just two kids struggling to pay for tuition then, but we had met in high school and ended up rooming together. You can probably imagine what happens when two college kids get desperate for money.
- 3) Yup.
- 1) Who was your supplier?
- 3) Abby got in good with the big boss and I ended up leaving. Neither of us talked about the mob after that. One night though we got into a fight and I left our apartment.
- 2) The McKellar's. I got in because me and Abby were good at selling. We were only pushers at first but then it spiraled out of control.
- 2) I agreed that he was stupid and then went and got him. We were going to leave the city, but the McKellar's ran us off the road that night.
- 1) The mob left me alone and I know it was because of Abby. I know he's been protecting me. Anyway, the same night as the murder he called me for the first time in a year. He wanted out of the mob, said he was stupid for not coming with me.
