She's trying to fall asleep. Now's my chance to give her a false alarm!
I feel worried now! My heart is beating fast and my head feels dizzy
What if a bad guy breaks into your house and hurts you and your family?
I don't like feeling worried and I don't want anything bad to happen to me or my family!
If you want to feel better, you need to go check the locks and ask mom if everything will be ok...
Mary is trying to fall asleep and her OCD is about to strike!
Ok, the door is locked. I'll be safe.Better go ask mom, too.
Mary's OCD sends off a false alarm by giving her a sticky thought. This makes her feel worried.
Nothing bad is going to happen, of course you're safe! Don't worry, now go to back to bed.
Mom, are you sure we'll be safe? What if something bad happens?
OCD tells her to do what it says to make the bad feelings go away.
