  • Trouble With The Native Americans
  • In 1814 the British were able to send thousands of troops across the Atlantic. America then stopped trying to conquer Canada. Although both the British and Americans found it to be more harder than expected.
  • Results Of The War
  • New Orleans was defended by 7,000 troops which even included pirates etc. Although the British had 7,500 troops at the time. The Battle Of New Orleans was considered the greatest U.S. victory in The War Of 1812.
  • The settlers moved into the Ohio and Mississippi valleys. And pushed the Indians off of their own land. The chief and two Shawnee Indians fought back by uniting Indians that were by the Mississippi River into one nation. Soon after Harrison defeated the Indians they found out that they were armed with British Guns. So they thought that they needed to drive out the British from Canada.
  • Either the British or Americans didn't really win the war. Although the war weakened the Indian Resistance. It also, made Americans consider that war "The second war of independence". And the war also had political affects because the federalists never recovered. As they were weakened by their opposition to the war.
