- In the play the narrator tells the audience about Cory pushing down Troy when he saw him hurting Rose, “(CORY comes up behind TROY and grabs him. TROY, surprised, is thrown off balance just as CORY throws a glancing blow that catches him on the chest and knocks him down. TROY is stunned, as is CORY)” (Wilson 68). Troy grabbed Rose’s arm in the middle of an argument and he started to hurt her so Cory showing his love for his mom, pushed Troy down and hit him in the chest.
