  • Glisser: 1
  • Hi Rational number! We have many similarities but we also have many differences.
  • Hi Irrational number! I'm Rational Number. What's up between us?
  • Glisser: 2
  • Well, we are both apart of the real number system. Therefore, we have all of the properties that are assigned to the real number system. Additionally, we can both be a decimal and either be positive or negative.
  • Wow! What are our similarities?
  • Glisser: 3
  • Our main difference is that you can be written in a/b form (fraction) and as a decimal you either terminate or repeat in a pattern. On the other hand, I am the exact opposite. I can't be written as a fraction nor can I terminate or repeat in a pattern.
  • Sounds great! What are some of our differences?
  • Glisser: 4
  • Hi Integer! I'm Rational Number. What's up between us?
  • Hi Rational number! We have many differences, but we also have many similarities.
  • Glisser: 5
  • Well, as a fraction, I can only have a denominator of one (ex: 2/1) because I am a counting number (1, 2, 3, etc) that can be both positive and negative. Meanwhile, a rational number can be any kind of fraction (ex: 5/1, 1/2, 3/4, 5/8) Therefore, not all rational numbers are integers.
  • Oh okay! What are our differences?
  • Glisser: 6
  • Well, Although not all rational numbers are integers, all integers are rational numbers. Additionally, both you and I can be written as fractions even if our fractions might look a little different. Lastly, both of us can be either positive or negative.
  • Cool! What are our similarities?
