- Hi I’m Osmo and I’m here to teach you about forces. A force is a push or pull.
- See my friend over their he is using force to throw the ball in the air.
- You see as my friend throws the ball in the air he is exerting an applied force by pushing the ball in the air.
- The reason the ball falls back to the ground is because of gravitational force. The ball will fall down quicker if it is heavier.
- Notice my friend running if he came to a fast stop the friction of his feet rubbing against the ground will force him to stop.
- I hope he stops fast!
- When I place the ball in the water it floats that’s due to buoyant force. Buoyant force makes the liquid force the ball up to the surface
- One last thing, I want to tell you about electrical force. For example if I touched the locker door and it shocked me that would be electrical force. Electrical force happens when two charged objects both attract and repel each other at the same time.
- Look at the magnets on the locker. They are being held there with magnetic force. So the metal is atracting the magnet to it.
- Well it looks like I better get going. I’m so glad I could tell you about forces.
