- A computer is very similar to the human body; made up of different parts that have specific functions that allow it to operate.

- It shows what work the computer carries out. It has an on/off switch. Turning the monitor off does not turn the computer off. The monitor is an output device.
- First is the Monitor. The monitor is like the face.
- It is made up of small buttons called keys. Each key corresponds to a number, letter, symbol, etc. The keyboard is an input device.
- Next is the keyboard. The keyboard is like the hands.
- A mouse is a pointing device that controls the movement of a pointer on the screen. A mouse is an input device.
- This is the mouse. It is like the eyes. It helps you navigate through the computer.
- This is the Central Processing Unit (CPU). It controls all other parts of the computer and makes them work together. The CPU is a processing device.
- Lastly this is the CPU. It is like the brain.
- A computer has a information processing cycle. This system generates the information that is inputted into the computer, processes it, stores it, and outputs/presents the results.
- A computer also consists of different types of software. Software are different types of programs that are used on a computer. Application, system, shareware, liteware, and freeware are all types of software.
- Like all parts of the body work together to keep the body alive, so do parts of the computer.
