- Romeo kills Tybalt in a brawl so he gets banished to Mantua. Juliet becomes very upset, and they are out of contact after just getting married.
- Capulet tries to force Juliet to marry Paris but Juliet doesn’t want to. So Juliet goes to Friar Laurence’s cell and asks for his help. He gives her a potion to make her appear dead but really just puts her to sleep for a little while.
- Juliet drinks the potion, then the next morning the nurse finds her “dead” in her bed. Friar Laurence tells the Capulets to bury Juliet in the family tomb.
- Balthasar, Romeo’s servant hears the news and rushes to Mantua to inform Romeo. Romeo is distraught so he purchases poison and heads back to Verona to kill himself beside Juliet.
- Romeo arrives at the tomb but Paris was already there. Paris challenges Romeo to a fight but Romeo ends up killing Paris. Paris’s dying wish was to be buried next to Juliet so Romeo buries him inside the tomb.
- When Romeo sees “dead” Juliet he drinks the poison and dies beside her and Paris. Finally, Juliet wakes up and finds Romeo dead. She grabs his dagger and kills herself beside him.
