I learned about how the Neolithic Revolution was a turning point!
Hello honey! What did you learn in school today?
How was the Neolithic Revolution a turning point?
Well before the Neolithic Revolution, people were hunter gatherers and did not have permanent settlements. This was known as the Paleolithic Era.
I gathered some plants!
I killed an animal! We can have it for our next meal.
During the Neolithic Revolution, people settled down into permanent dwellings. They were able to settle down because they developed agriculture, which provided a constant source of food. Sometimes, people had a surplus in crops that they could share with other people.
Wow! I have so much extra food! I can share it with my community.
That is so interesting! Is there any more turning points?
Yes!
Another turning point was that people were able to domesticate plants and animals to fit their needs. Additionally, people were able to focus on special jobs that they were good at.
Let's see how many eggs there are today...
As you can see, the Neolithic Revolution was a turning point because people started started living in permanent settlements and people were able to do the things they were good at.
Wow! Thank you for telling me about how the Neolithic Revolution was a turning point!
