- There's nothing wrong with me doc! I'm not crazy.
- I mean, everything has just been depressing recently. More and more things just make me sad.
- No one things you're crazy, Holden. People are just worried about you. Can you tell me how you've been feeling recently?
- Whenever I see things that just seem sad, like a sick person, or I remember something good that isn't there anymore, I just get depressed.
- That's perfectly normal, Holden. Can you tell me some times that you've felt depressed?
- Have you ever felt suicidal? Or tried to hurt yourself?
- Yeah, one time when I was feeling really depressed in my hotel room, I really wanted to jump out the window.
- I mean, I'm not going to actually do it. I just think about it sometimes when I'm feeling depressed.
- That's not okay Holden. We should get you some help so you feel better. Id there anything else you want to share?
- I don't know doc... I still feel happy though. I love my sister, and I like going out to bars.
- You're saying that now, but what if it gets worse in the future? You probably didn't think it would get this bad before, but here we are.
- But you aren't even old enough to drink! In my opinion, you should get some help. It'll make you feel much better in the future.
- Okay doc. I'll get some help. I don't like feeling depressed all that much.
- Thank you, Holden. I will do my absolute best to help you. Thank you for being so open with me today.
- That sounds about right. All those things he's gone through would make someone not want to open up. I';m glad he decided to come back for help.
- I believe that he's depressed and has anxiety. I also think that he's a good kid, but he's got a thick shell from everything he's gone through
