- Hello, Garie! I am watching a movie about a teenager experiencing mood swings.
- Oh! That's interesting. Since you're about to become a teenager, it's good to know the changes happen during puberty stage.
- What is puberty stage?
- Puberty is when a child's body begins to develop and change as they become an adult. Girls develop breasts and start their periods. They are also experiencing mood swings as part of the emotional and behavioral changes that happen during puberty. The average age for girls to begin puberty is 11.
- The reproductive system is the main organ system involved in puberty. The changes of puberty allow the reproductive system to become fully functional. By the end of puberty, both males and females are fertile and able to reproduce. The endocrine is the other major role play in the puberty.
- A mood swing is a sudden or intense change in emotional state. During a mood swing, a person may quickly switch from feeling happy and upbeat to feeling sad, irritable, or angry.
- Ah! Ok. What do you mean by mood swings? Why did teenagers experience mood swings?
- Oh! That's why the character in the movie is experiencing mood swings. Is there an effect on the way they communicate with the people around them?
- Family relationships are often reorganized during puberty. Teens want more independence and more emotional distance between them and their parents. A teen's focus often shifts to social interactions and friendships.
