- The Archduke is assassinated by a Serbian nationalist, which forces Austro-Hungary to go to war with Serbia. This is the start of World War 1.
- The U.S. Learns of the Zimmerman Note
- Sir, what is this?
- A telegram, sir. I believe it was meant for Mexico, but it was sent to us. It has extremely important information regarding your land.
- Austria-Hungary viewed the assassination of the Archduke as a planned out attack, which made them go to war.
- German Submarines Sink American Ships
- Despite the fact that the U.S. said that they would remain neutral in the war, they still continued to supply the allied nations, Russia, Greece, Portugal, and Libya.
- The U.S. Joins Its Allies in World War 1
- I now declare war against Germany. It's what they deserve
- The Zimmerman Note, a telegram, was intended to go from the Germans to Mexico, instead it went to Great Britain. This was to inform Mexico that if the U.S. enters the war, Mexico and Germany should form an alliance, with that alliance they thought they would beat the U.S. and Mexico would get its land back that the U.S. previously bought.
- The Germans heard of what the U.S. was doing, supplying the Allies, and decided to sink any ship that came their way. They sunk a passenger ship called the Lusitania. The U.S. said that the Lusitania was only holding people, but that was determine to be a lie, they also had weapons aboard.

- After German U-boats had sunk American ships, President Wilson decided that it was time to declare war on Germany, the U.S. has now entered into the first world war.
