- The american colonists were enraged that they had to pay taxes, but had no vote or say in the government. This created the motto "No taxation without representation".

- The americans had little freedom in the colonies. From overpaying taxes, british soldiers watching them, and the limit to do what they want. lack of freedom was the main reason they tried to break free

- Method
- The boston tea party consisted of many patriots in disguised snuck onto a british boat and dumped thousands of pounds of tea into the boston harbor, wasting lots of Great Britain's money.
- Method
- The revolutionary war began in 1775 and was a well known war. They began fighting at the Battles of Lexington and Concord.
- Change
- America became a free independent country, and could pay their own taxes, run their own government, and choose their own manufactures
- America was able to run their own government, with a president, governors, and a declaration. They became a free country and a democracy
