- Beginning Stage
- Childbearing Stage
- Parenting Stage
- In this phase, a couple is either getting married or moving in together. Either way, they are starting a new chapter of life together.
- Launching Stage
- In this stage, the couple then takes on the parent roles, and their primary focus goes toward the kid(s)
- Empty Nesters
- Kids start school which forces the family to re-evaluate their schedule, and life can get hectic from other after school activities, forcing the parents to be flexible with their own life
- Retirement Stage
- The child is now leaving home. The parents should remember that its okay, and that it can be for good. The couple must now adjust to this absence.
- The child may now have a family of their own. The parents may even become grandparents. The child is starting to relate to their own parents a bit more. The couple can no re-focus their attention back onto each other.
- The couple has retired, which gives them even more free time. The couple my even travel to fill in some free time. Other times the couple will often go out for activities.
