- When Austin arrived at Saltillo, he got arrested by Mexican officers because they found the letter that he wrote. He was locked up for the entire year.
- Battle of Gonzales
- The colonists declared their loyalty to Mexico. They denied that they were not a rebellion against Mexicos authority. The final result of the battle was Colonel Bradburn was removed from command by another Mexican officer.

- During this time, Santa Anna was becoming a dictator, So Austin believed that the people of Texas should defend their rights.

- The first battle of the Texas revolution. The Mexican government wanted a cannon returned from the colonists at Gonzales. This battle proved that the Texans ere willing to bring military forces against Mexico.
- The battle lasted for 13 days, while Santa Anna and his men tried to take over the Alamo
