- The body is transported to the place of purification, the Ibu, on the west side of the Nile.
- They then wash the body with natron salt and water.
- Next, they push a hook into the nose, pull out the brain then fill it with sawdust.
- The organs are then dragged out of the body and cleaned by palm wine and spices.
- The body is covered with straw or dry grass to keep its shape. The body is then glazed with wax and wrapped in 357m2 of linen with a mummy mask on the head.
- The mummy is taken to a special coffin called Sarcophagus and taken to the pyramid.
