- The Family of Little Feet
- There was a family who were all little. The grandpa, grandma, baby, and mother´s feet were all little. The mother gave the girls a paper bag with one pair of lemon shoes and one red and one pair of dancing shoes that used to be white and were now pale blue.
- Do you guys want these?
- The girls felt like Cinderella because there feet fit exactly. Everyone wanted to trade the shoes. Rachel learned to to walk the best in the shoes and taught Esperanza and Lucy to walk in the shoes
- You girls are to young to be wearing shoes like that.
- The girls walked down to the corner store where the men can´t take there eyes of them. They got a lot of attention. Mr. Benny told the girls that shoes like those are dangerous and that they are too young to wear shoes like that.
- We have to go right now
- Ladies, lead me to heaven!
- On Avenue street a boy on a homemade bicycle got the girls attention and told Rachel that she was pretty. He also said he would give her a dollar if she gave him a kiss. Lucy told her we have to go and grabbed her by the hand

- We are tired of being beautiful
- The girls ran fast and far away going back to Mango street. They were tired of being beautiful. Lucy hides the shoes and one Tuesday her mother throws them away. No one complains.
