- The Mayan Creation
- In the beginning there was stillness, silence and water.There was no light, land, plants, people, or animals.
- Let's Create Land !!
- Before there was any true form, there were two Gods.Tepeu who was the maker and Gucumatz the feathered spirit.They both came together In efforts to create the world.
- This sure looks good Gucumatz !!!
- Both Tepeu and Gucumatz thought of the Earth and created it. They then created the sky, mountains and everything in between. Everything they thought about creating appeared on Earth.
- I like it a lot, maybe another mountain or two though.
- Didn't expect them to be this mean
- They then created animals to add to the earth. they could only howl or roar.
- Afterwards the two figured they needed a more human figure to worship them so they made man.
- You created them so you asked for it !
- Praise me !
- The first men ever created were made from clay, wood, and white corn. They were made so that the Gods had someone to praise them.
- After the men were created they them made four women so they could mate with the men.
- The first men created were from wood and clay, they were swept away by a flood (caused by Tepeu) because they had no life to them which meant they couldn't praise Tepeu.
- In the end the world was created with all the animals, men and elements of the Earth.
