  • Hi Ms. Read! We are so happy to see you again. To be honest, we are a little bit worried about this meeting. As we told you in our get to know the teacher meeting we believe Marco did not learn anything last year. He was having some virtual classes and it was very difficult for him to focus on the screen.
  • Welcome! Nice to see you again and Thank you for coming. How are you?
  • Marco is a very smart boy, I love how social he is and his excitement to be back on campus. I definitely understand that things with COVID were difficult but I'm sure that if we can agree on a plan to support Marco everything will be fine.

  • Some weeks ago we formally started with the curriculum and we have made some assessments. Unfortunately, Marco’s score is below the expected proficiency level. This should not be a problem at this time of the year because we definitely have some time to get Marco right on track. What you have shared about his learning made me be more focused on getting a plan for him but I want your help. You two are the experts knowing Marco so I need your help to better support him.
  • We were aware of it and would love to cooperate with you to help our child.
  • For sure, He loves video games. Minecraft and Among us are his favorite.
  • Great! In the classroom we use an APP called Brainzy that helps students practice their letters by playing games. Marco will be allowed to play at home in this app for 10-15 min every day for 5 weeks. In that way he can practice without even noticing it. I will be assessing him every end of the week and recording his progress. What do you think?
  • Great! I am here to support Marco and I know that with our plan he will be showing progress sooner than later. What we need to work on very hard with Marco right now is letter names and sounds. Does Marco like video games?

  • Sure, After this meeting I will be sharing with you a folder with Marco’s information. This folder will include a letter name and sound checklist, and passwords information for Brainzy, Raz-Kids and Epic.
  • We heard Marco talking about Epic and Brainzy but we didn't really know what that was. Thanks for letting us know.
  • I'm happy he is liking these apps. I'm working very hard on giving them all the resources so they are learning. Here at school I'll be working with him in small groups, playing game boards, singing songs and doing many more activities. So if Marco likes to move or sing that can be another thing you can do. Maybe when you are in the car you can play letter names and letter sounds songs and maybe sing with him.

  • I'm very happy I got to talk to you and get this plan on the go. After 5 weeks I'll set another meeting with you to check his progress.
