- Montresor tricked Fortunato into thinking that he had dry sherry in his house.
- He cannot know the difference between dry sherry and wine, I shall go with you to receive this dry sherry.
- Just keep walking, the dry sherry should be down there.

- Here have some wine, it should get rid of your cold.
- Montresor gave Fortunato wine to make him drunk.
