Well Maria Montessori was born on 31stAugust 1870. She passed away on the 6thMay 1952 but not before making great contributions in Early Childhood education. She was an Italian physician. Yes she wasn’t into the Education field at first. She attended an all boys University of Rome ( 1893-1896) where she graduated with honorsbecoming the first female doctor in Italy. Due to not being in support with what was being offered educational to those with disabilities she left her profession to embrace education.
She quickly advanced and became a director at the age of 28 for a mentally disabled minors school.

that’s not even all she did. She went on to study psychology and philosophy in 1901 shifting her gears to early childhood development and education, where she observed and experiment to learn the best teaching practices today the Montessori method.
