Act 1 scene 2 As they celebrate Gertrude and Claudius's marriage, Hamlet finds out his father's ghost has appeared in the castle.
Act 1 scene 5The late kings ghost tells his son that Claudius murdered him and request he seek revenge. Hamlet is determined to prove his uncle's guilt.
Act 2 scene 2 The king and Polonius are scheming to spy on Hamlet. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, old friends of Hamlet, are summoned to the castle to keep an eye on himi.
Act 3 scene 1Claudius and Polonius listen when Hamlet meets Ophelia. He rejects her thinking that she is conspiring with his uncle and her father.
Act 3 scene 2With the king and the entire court watching, the actors play out the series of events described by the ghost. Before it finished Claudius stopped the play, confirming Hamlets suspicions

Act 3 scene 3 The king arranges for Hamlet to be sent away with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, he then confesses to his crime in prayer. Hamlet overhears but is determined to kill Claudius when he will go to hell.
Act 3 scene 4 Polonius is hiding behind a tapestry to eavesdrop. Hamlet thinking Claudius was the intruder stabs it, killing Polonius. The ghost appears to remind him his revenge was not yet achieved.
Act 4 scene 2King Claudius sends Hamlet away to England

Act 4 scene 6Polonius's son Laertes returns to avenge his father's murder, he becomes furious when he learns Ophelia drowned. Hamlet escapes his banishment and returns.
Act 5 scene 2Gertrude drinks the poisoned wine and dies, Once she dies Hamlet finally kills Claudius.
The EndingHamlet, also being cut by the poisonous blade dies in Horatio's arms.
