  • Bloody Sunday
  • Rasputin's Demise
  • February Revolution (in Petrograd)
  • We are starving! We want food!
  • About 200,000 factory workers participated in a peaceful protest for their freedoms outside the Tsar's Winter Palace on Bloody Sunday, but between 500 and 1,000 innocent bystanders were killed when Russian soldiers opened fire on the huge crowd.
  • October Revolution
  • Land, Peace, Bread
  • Rasputin's influence over the tsarina was deemed a threat to the empire by a group of nobles led by Prince Felix Yusupov, Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich, and right-wing politician Vladimir Purishkevich. As a result, they devised a plan in December of 1916 to assassinate him, ostensibly by luring him to the Yusupovs' Moika Palace.
  • Red Terror
  • WE HAVE ORDERS FROM LENIN TO CAPTURE THEM ALL!!
  • Peasants along with factory workers, merchants and other people of the industrial middle-class went on strike after bread shortages and crises that followed the fall of the Duma. In spite of this the Russians quickly set up a provisional government.
  • Joseph Stalin vs. Leon Trotsky
  • I understand my dear friend Stalin
  • After being exiled, the Bolshevik leader Vladimir Lenin returned. After the war became too difficult, the Soviets promptly drove out the Provisional Government. "Land, Peace, and Bread" became a catchphrase for Lenin. The Soviets gained control of Petrograd quietly. Lenin handed peasants land and gave workers industries.
  • Lenin initially gave out an order to capture or assassinate anyone suspected of being an enemy for the revolution. He gave the order to the Cheka who were the Soviet secret police force, and together they executed about 300,000 people, including the Tsar Nicholas II along with his family.
  • At this point, Joseph Stalin was the Communist State Secretary, and Leon Trotsky led and controlled the Red Army. Stalin then began naming his friends as leaders of the USSR in 1924 after Lenin suffered a stroke that rendered him speechless. Stalin then goes on to convince others that Trotsky is a traitor in order to usurp Russia's throne.
  • Trotsky is a liar, and a traitor!!
