- It causes global warming, drought, habitat destruction, and dramatic loss of biodiversity
- Clear-cutting is devastating for forest ecosystems.
- Many species rely on forests to provide shelter and food and when an area is clear-cut, they can no longer survive there
- Where did our friends and our home go?
- Clear-cutting gets rid of trees and most animal's habitat's for urban planning such as: parking lots, houses, etc.
- Where are we supposed to go now??
- YAY!!!!
- One example of a solution is Eco-Forestry. Which is where only carefully selected trees are cut down and are transported with minimal damage
- Which means that the forest ecosystem is preserved while commercial timber extraction is still permitted
- This is becoming a huge issue, but there are ways to resolve it.
- A number of organizations like Conservation International, The Sierra Club, and many more have come together to try and resolve the issue

- We need to think about how our actions affect the lives of so many species and ecosystems before it's too late.
