  • A new Constitution is needed in order to protect our liberty and divide equal power between state and central governments. It will also provide a better structure to the central government by splitting it into different branches, making it stronger than the Articles of Confederation.
  • A new Constitution will only take away our liberty. The central government will end up taking most of the power, leaving very little to none towards the states and eventually creating a monarchy. It will strip away the individual rights of people.
  • Well, what should we do about that?
  • We should add a Bill of Rights. This will provide a written confirmation to people's individual rights that the government won't be able to strip away. It will guarantee safety and freedom towards the people of the United States.
  • A Bill of Rights seems unnecessary might not provide as much liberty, though. The state government already have their individual laws and by adding a Bill of Rights, it may only limit people's freedom. Additionally, some rights could be stripped away from people just because they aren't written in the Bill of Rights, only adding to the limitation of freedom for them.
  • We can come up with a compromise: Ratify the Constitution and add a Bill of Rights to
