  • Dictatorship
  • We should all hear them out first.
  • Communism
  • We should tear this building down!
  • Republic
  • I'm sorry sir, but the state has enough signatures to recall you.
  • A dictatorship is a form of government where the main individual (dictator) rules the country and holds absolute power. Constitutions do not restrict them. These leaders normally obtain their power through office (force). An example of this government is the president of North Korea (Kim Jong-un). He rose up from acting chairman of the military. After his father died, he became president.
  • Aristocracy
  • A small group of people often influences communist political systems. Everyone is paid according to their needs, everyone works, and some property is publicly owned. An example of communism would be China. The ultimate goal of the communist society, would be to eliminate classes. In other words, a stateless society without capitalism. Capitalism works on common ownership.
  • Absolute Monarchy
  • Republic political systems are mostly subject to the people. The people can recall/impeach a leader at any given time and help with big decisions. An example of a republic government today would be Iceland. Iceland elects a president and a legislature. One can rise up and be elected. States are not governed by themselves, but through representatives.
  • Anarchy
  • An aristocracy is a form of government when nobles hold all the power. A higher group or the upper class is in power because of wealth or status. For example, the Spartiates of Sparta. In ancient Sparta these leaders ruled together. They were an elite warrior class who rose up to rule. This differs from monarchy because instead of a single person, it is a small group of nobilities.
  • Absolute monarchy is a political system where lowerclassmen must fully submit to the upper-classmen. A higher party determines the rules/laws, normally a small group, with a leader (king, queen, etc.) The leaders normally obtain power through reign or bloodline. They have absolute power. Leaders in this political system can throw people in jail for simply disrespecting them. Absolute Monarchy was used in the medieval era.
  • Anarchy is when a leader is absent. There is no real higher power, and civilians normally support independence for the people. This can result from civil war situations (power disagreement). Even when civilians overthrow their previous leader. An example would be a country in Ukraine. In the Ukrainian civil war won independence and switched to an anarchist government. They are now considered a free territory and are stateless.
