- On a warm Saturday night in February, I, Jason Parker was to face my biggest nemesis and fierce competitor Alex Colt in the middle of a stadium. I hear the sounds of people cheering for the two of us in the stands but I can't quite figure which ones are my parents. The referee stands between us, ready to signal when it's time to show of our outstanding karate skills.
- 2 Minutes to Start time and I'm already nervous. I look across at Alex who is considerably dealing with his inner self better. He looks calm as if fighting me was second nature for him. Of Course, I know he's as good as me in Karate but the way he brags about it to me and the other kids at school ?- that's what I don't like about him. On a normal day, I would be itching eagerly to pound him into my fist, but for some reason I don't feel like that now.
- It's karate time ! I hear the referee blow the whistle and shout, "Fight !" I start off the game with one of my signature opening moves. I landed two lightning punches to Alex's ribs, and swept his legs out so he would lose balance. Alex somersaulted up into the air and landed face down on the wooden floor of the ring. The Score was 1-0. I needed to win three points to take the game.
